This week, we’re going deeper: how to discern the RIGHT kind of coach for your life and business, and how to avoid slipping into patterns that leave you burned out, misaligned, or relying more on strategy than surrender.

The Big Idea

Not every good strategy is God’s strategy.
And not every coach is meant to guide you.

Why Misalignment Creates Burnout

You can follow all the right steps and still feel like you’re drowning, because strategy alone isn’t enough. When you chase results but neglect your values, you build success on shaky ground.

Here’s what happens when you work with a coach who’s misaligned with your values:

• You get strategy without soul, quick wins that don’t last.
• You build results in your own strength instead of depending on God.
• You hit ceilings because you haven’t grown into the woman who can carry what you’re praying for.
• You lose your sense of peace, purpose, and identity in the process.

Real transformation happens at God’s pace.
There are no shortcuts to becoming who He’s calling you to be.

Worldly vs. Godly Coaching

Many coaches in the business world, even those who sprinkle in faith, still operate from a place of hustle, self-sufficiency, and performance.

But here’s the difference:

Worldly Coaching:

• Prioritizes income, results, and fast growth
• Focuses on the formula, not the person
• Encourages you to push through, even if it feels off
• Leads to burnout, comparison, and striving

Godly Coaching:

• Prioritizes personal growth and spiritual maturity
• Encourages you to slow down and listen to the Lord
• Aligns with your values and calling
• Leads to peace, clarity, and sustainable results

Questions to Ask Before You Invest

Before hiring a coach, pause and pray through these:

• What’s my true motivation? Is this about growing as a person, or just making money faster?
• Will this coach help me grow spiritually, emotionally, and as a mom and wife, or just in business?
• Am I choosing this out of fear or faith?
• What if it doesn’t work as expected, will I still gain internal growth?
• Is this advice drawing me closer to God, or causing more confusion and pressure?

These questions will help you step into coaching with discernment, not desperation.

Let God Grow You First

Your business can only grow as far as YOU grow.
God cares more about your character than your platform.

If you’re exhausted, overwhelmed, or stuck in striving, take that as a cue, not to do more, but to slow down and seek the Lord. Ask Him: Am I on Your path or the world’s?

Because the truth is, many of us are doing all the “Christian” things… but still walking our own way.
