As I was planning for this upcoming year and what episodes I wanted to share with you, this idea of goals kept coming to my mind. And I feel like setting goals for a new year is always really daunting.
I want to speak to those of you today who are feeling overwhelmed with where to start and offer you 5 Must-Have goals for Mom Photographers in 2024.
Episode 167, will give you an overview of those 5 goals. And then over the next several weeks, I will break those down into separate episodes in a mini-series called Goals Simplified. I’ll dive deeper into each of those goals, and really help you set a firm foundation for this year.
These goals are goals that maybe you have heard before, or maybe goals that you have thought about before, but you maybe haven’t actually put them into action, or there is more work to be done in each of these areas.
Goal #1: Explore and Cultivate a Meaningful Spiritual Connection with God
Whether you’re maybe meeting God for the first time, or maybe you’re coming back to exploring connection with Him because you’ve been hurt in the past.
Maybe you have had a relationship with God, but maybe you have strayed away, or you just haven’t prioritized your relationship with Him as much as you should.
Either way, I want to invite you and myself, to create spiritual closeness with God this next year.
One of my goals this year is to learn how to rely on God more in my business. I want God to be my CEO. I need to own my role as the CEO by following His lead as the CEO.
I started reading a new book called Grace Over Grind, and it has shifted everything for me recently.
I could not record episode 167 without including the goal that has changed everything about my life and my business. And I know this is the goal that has the ability to change everything for you, too.
Our businesses are more than just revenue makers. We are impact makers. And that is our whole purpose of being alive is to impact others.
So going into 2024, I urge you to at least explore, and at least find out for yourself if Christianity is true, and if God is real.

Goal #2: Create a Morning Routine That Fosters Wellness
I know I’ve talked on this before, but I consistently hear from my students that this is something you still struggle with overall.
So, in that upcoming episode, I really want to share with you what a solid solid morning routine looks like, how to set some self care goals for yourself, and truly how to build on that morning routine step by step.
Goal #3: Implement Weekly CEO Dates For Strategic Growth
I’ll focus on two dates: your weekly business CEO date and your weekly personal CEO date.
I will personally be working on my own personal CEO dates this upcoming year with my business bestie and trying to stay consistent with those for myself!
When I talk to my students, I always am checking in with them on these CEO dates. I just feel like when you have those things in alignment, paired with goal number one and two, then everything else falls into place.
This helps create that firm foundation we all need as mom photographers.
Goal #4: Up-Level Your Time Management Skills
Even as a productivity coach, and someone who really prides myself in managing my time well, I still have the goal to uplevel my time management skills, because this is never an area I feel like I am totally proficient in.
It’s really important to still strive to learn and grow, even if you feel like your time management skills are okay. So in this episode, we are going to talk about how to uplevel those time management skills.
You’ll ask yourself a couple of questions like: How can you use your ideal week that I’ve talked about before? How can you really map out what that looks like? How can you time block your time? How can you learn how to narrow in on that ideal week?
We will be talking to about how to look at it from a micro perspective, instead of only a macro view, and how that can really be effective in helping you manage your time well.
We also are going to cover time tracking in that episode, and some other strategies that you can use to ensure that you are taking control of your time, and that your time is not controlling you.
Goal #5: Get Organized with an Effective Task Management System
About 80% of people who come into my Effecient Mom Photographer Program answered on their survey that they use notepads and sticky notes in order to keep track of their tasks. And I used to be that way as well. So there’s no shame there at all.
But what happens is when you get to be busier in business, and you have more kids to manage, and more things to manage, in general, it can be extremely hard to keep track of everything.
And so we will be talking in that episode about how to use a task management system. And when a paper planner might be a better option versus digital. And we’re going to be talking about how to prioritize those tasks, and how to really effectively make sure that the tasks that you’re doing are actually income generating tasks.
As a reminder, the 5 goals are:
- Explore and cultivate a meaningful relationship with God
- Create a morning routine that fosters wellness
- Implement weekly CEO dates for strategic growth
- Uplevel your time management skills
- Get organized with an effective task management system
