This episode is a little different than normal. I don’t have steps, or a process for you to check off and follow, or tips for any specific business task.

I wanna be really raw and vulnerable with you, because something big is happening in my business and I wanted to give you an update.

You might remember that my daughter tried microschooling at the beginning of this year. That only lasted a semester, and she missed homeschooling, so he has been back homeschooling with us for about 4 months.

I feel like every time big changes happen, I have to readjust, right? That’s just part of being a mom.

But it’s also part of being a business owner.

And things have really changed in my business lately, as well.

The big change that’s happening in my business is: I have decided to broaden my audience once again back to mom business owners.

This is how my business originally started back in 2019, was to connect with other mom business owners. That was always the initial heart behind The Purpose Gathering.

Through the process of starting The Purpose Gathering, offering an in-person business group, and eventually creating a course, I realized I didn’t have a specific audience.

Over the years, as I worked with other coaches, and I listened to trusted friends, I kept hearing over and over and over again that I needed to niche down.

In 2022, I niched down to speak to mom photographers specifically. I changed the name of my podcast to fit that, and more.

The Organized Mompreneur Podcast

I wanted to do one last episode as The Mom Photographer Podcast. Just so that I could explain what was happening and it didn’t just all of a sudden completely change.

And I also decided not to make a big deal about the change this time like I did back in October.

This change has been rolling around in my head for a while now.

Ever since I’ve been growing in my relationship with God, and allowing Him to be the CEO of my business, I’ve felt Him saying my true audience is mom business owners.

I just feel like what I am the most gifted at teaching is something that is so much more applicable to all mom business owners. I have a humongous passion for positive parenting, and Time management strategies, and productivity, and juggling motherhood and business, and talking about systems and automation, and stepping into the role of CEO.

I do have some fears moving forward, like losing mom photographers specifically, but I truly am so excited when I realized that most of my topics and values have always aligned with mom business owners at large.

At the beginning of March, I went to a wellness retreat that was truly so pivital for me in making this decision. I’m taking what I learned there and marrying it with God’s voice and direction in my life, and the end product is this broadening of audience.

I needed to learn what I have learned now, which is that I am put on this earth to serve mom business owners.

Of course I can still serve mom photographers because you’re also mom business owners, but the skill set that God has given me is so much broader than just speaking to photographers.

My true passion is not just photography, but productivity.

The only constant in business is change, and we really have to lean into that.

And if you are struggling with something in your life right now, or something in your business that just feels really difficult, feels really hard, I just want to leave you with this incredible quote:

“Don’t try to skip the struggle. That’s the most valuable part of the journey where all the character, resilience and confidence is built.”

I truly believe that the struggles we face today helps develop the strength that we need for tomorrow.

And I truly believe that each and every time we encounter a struggle in our business or resistance, or we break through to the next level, that really is helping us grow into our future CEO self.

And I am here for it.
